Happy New Years

I live across the street from a fireworks stand, which is iritating but made for some pretty pictures with my new camera!

Victory

We did it! We had our first "big" xmas (i.e. containing every member of our family including significant others) without anyone fighting. Everyone came, Both parents, all four children, the two older significant others, and Kevin's parents and sister. WE all sat in our jammies and opened presents. We then all gorged ourselves on a fantastic potluck including three different types of meat and a bunch of sides. We marveled at Heather's to scale gingerbread version of charity hospital. Once the food coma began we indulged (?) ourselves by watching "Transmorphers" (no i didn't mispell that and yes it was THAT awful.) Which after 10 minutes of awfulness and in realizing that it wasn't going to be a porn we decided to MST3K. Once that decision was made the movie was funny. Then we watch the top 80 of the top 100 songs of the '90s. All in all it was a good day, everyone got presents all potential arguments were diffused and I think we all gained five pounds. This is a big step for my family unit. We have a distinct track record of having at least one person storm out or start a fight at EVERY holiday event. They are typically high stress. But we did it and I am very proud...off to the gym!
